| E.C. Motor |
- Electronically commutated external-rotor motor with integrated electronics.
- A magnetic rotor synchronously follows a rotary field that is generated electronically.
- Only the latest electronics have now made implementation of
this solution possible.
- EC motors behave like direct current motors and feature the
same easy controllability.
- EC motors operate with High Efficiency (upto 90%).
|
| Energy Efficient |
- Consume much less energy than conventional AC drives at the
same air performance.
- Even under partial load, EC motors lose far less efficiency than
asynchronous motors of the same output.
- Satisfies the need to be energy conscious and comply with
current and up-coming emission targets
- Provides benefits on running costs long term.
- Results in less lost heat given off to the surroundings which is
also beneficial to the service life of the ball bearings.
|
| Operation & Control |
The integrated electronics include an array of built-in features :
- Wide voltage input (compatible with all standard Electricity
Board networks at identical air performance).
- Alarm relay.
- Locked-rotor protection.
- Phase failure detection.
- Soft start.
- Mains under-voltage detection.
- Over-temperature protection of electronics and motor.
- Short-circuit protection.
Motor speed is easily adjusted by input of an analogue 0-10V signal. Demand orientated ventilation is therefore easily attained from external detectors (such as CO2, pressure or temperature detectors).
Alternatively we can pre-wire a simple potentiometer which takes it’s 10VDC power from the fan.
RS485 interface also allows for external programming.
|
| Compact |
- External rotor design is highly compact.
- EC motor is directly integrated into the impeller.
- Results in shorter fan sections within the Air Handling Units saving space, weight and A.H.U. build costs.
|
| No Maintenance |
- Maintenance free ball bearings and permanent lubrication.
- Direct drive means no belts to adjust / replace saves costs in the
long term - also results in better reliability as there are fewer
wear and tear components.
|
| Quieter |
Many comparison selections with conventional belt driven centrifugal fans show that the EC fans are quieter in operation.
