Construction Details - Casing

All low and medium pressure casings are constructed in accordance with the requirements of the relevant HVCA DW 144 tables.

For high pressure applications (where specified) the material thickness is up-rated in order to accommodate the increased duty. Our standard material is BS EN10142/1991/FEPO 2G high quality galvanised mild steel throughout although other materials such as aluminium or stainless steel can be utilised.

Where applicable on our rectangular silencers, flanges are provided at the sizes specified in DW144. Unless otherwise requested flanges will be the proprietary doby type, although other flange material such as ductmate and mild steel angle can be made available. All flanges are sealed to the silencer casings to meet the standard heating and ventilation requirements.

Our circular silencers are quite unique in the method of construction adopted. The casings incorporate staged ribbings suitably spaced along the length to provide re-enforcement. The end caps are made in such a way that in conjunction with the casing construction, the strength is improved such that the possibility of damage is reduced during normal carriage and handling procedures. These can be supplied with zinc plated metric nutserts spaced to suit customer requirements or with a spigot connection
